Hello friends, this is a special post about a little girl so very close to my heart named Sparrow. Her parents Mark and Jessie are good friends of mine and my family’s and we love them more than words could express. Sparrow is going to be having her third and final heart surgery on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

We want to spread the word and get as many people praying for Sparrow as possible. Pray that God gives her family peace, strength, hope, and wisdom. Pray for Sparrow’s older brother Noah, that he is happy and at peace during this time of separation from his family members. Pray that Sparrow’s pain is managed in an efficient and effective way and that she makes a speedy recovery. Pray for Mark and Jessie’s finances. Sparrow had to have a cath lab done a few weeks ago and alone that cost about $64,000. That was for a hospital stay from 6am-5pm (same day).

They will have astronomical amounts of medical bills to pay for after the surgery. If you would like to donate monetarily to Sparrow’s fund you can do so by clicking on the link below.
This is Sparrow’s fundraising site.

If you would like to donate items by sending Sparrow a special gift box, you can do so by sending the box here:

Sparrow’s mom Jessie sent me a list of items Sparrow would enjoy during her recovery if you would like to send her a gift box:

*Age-appropriate movies (DVD’s)

*Books & puzzles – the girl LOVES books and puzzles!

*Art & Education – paper, pens, colors, crayons and anything that would assist her in learning how to write her letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc… She is VERY interested in learning and naturally with me being a teacher, I’d rather stoke that fire than let her watch 5 Disney movies a day.

*Anything with or having to do kitties – she’s obsessed. Hello Kitty, stuffed kitties, cats, kittens, lions, tigers, she loves them all. She sings Katy Perry’s “Roar” everyday.

*Sparrow has a Leapster Explorer and a Leapster Tag – games and books for both of these devices would be a HUGE help! They are educational and entertaining.

*Sparrow also loves Squinkies – they’re tiny figurines that she collects.

*Flowers, balloons, cards, accessories, and treats

Jessie said she will be donating items to the hospital after Sparrow’s recovery to be given to other children for their recoveries.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider blessing the Mathises!
